Hey guys,

I'm strongly considering doing a fresh run of QuickProto (With Nick's blessing)
I think we could do a run of 50 of these with a retail cost of $9.99 each.

I'm placing the existing units I purchased from Nick at this price.

I'm going to use the sales/or not on this to check interest before I do a larger run.

Also...

The next 30 (Now 26) orders of the Pocket Mini Computer Kit will include a FREE CogSled.

The Pocket Mini Computer @$39.00 includes:
  • The Quickstart
  • The VGAplus board kit
  • A microSD module kit
  • Hardware mounting kit
  • and right now, a FREE Pinfinder & FREE CogSled

Any suggestions on changes you'd like to see in the QuickProto, please post them here.

Jeff

I'd like to see a revision history on the page about the QuickProto. I have an earlier one without the microSD and can no longer find any reference to it. It would help to keep notes about revisions, etc. Also I think it is really important to list on the page specifically what pins are assigned to the audio, video, etc. As it is now I had to trace out the board to verify them. Just a quick table showing the pin assignments is a requirement that would be a welcome addition. People that use that board all the time will already have them memorized but those just starting with that add-on board will need to spend some time tracking down those details before they can use it.

I'm using one of the QuickProto boards (early version) on a QuickStart for a new article I am working on. This board is a really good fit for the project.

It would also be nice to see an alternate version of the QuickProto with just a large group of isolated pads. On smaller proto boards like this I find it easier to wire from pad to pad on the back and having the individual traces gives me a little more flexibility

Heya Jeff - Kristina is sending you a box of fifty "somethings" - I already forgot what's in the box but I'm sure you'll find great uses for the parts.

    Thanks Ken!

@Robert: The idea of separate pads is interesting. I'd love to hear from a couple more here and form some consensus.
I'm considering removing the microSD pads and replacing it with connection points which are compatible with my microSD kits.

If there is room on the board can you leave the pads for the microSD and just squeeze in the row of connections for your MicroSD kits? That way people could use either one.

    Good idea!

    I'll make the adjustment.

Been thinking this morning... (dangerous) Should I bring back the Quickstart/QuickProto special?
