Does anyone know why we have this word "darwinism"? By contrast we do not have words like newtonism or einsteinism. Makes it sound more like a religious belief than a theory.
And for those who "hate" Facebook: this friendly forum is basically the same thing for Parallax fans. Of course Facebook afficionados would call us computer geeks, and that's OK. Everyone's misunderstood.
So instead of Mars colonies we're helping each other learn and build stuff out of plywood. What's so bad about that?
Pretty smooth the way I slipped that in, huh Matt & Publison?
Nothing, but How are we going to get to Mars using plywood?
Plywood sparks the imagination, just think of all the things Erco can do with a sheet of plywood.
If a handful of kids use that plywood to make a rocket to Mars in their youth, some of them may just grow up to help do it for real.
Maybe every parent should get their kid a sheet of 1/4" aircraft grade (just because it is nice and knot free) plywood, a coping saw and a hand cranked drill for Christmas this year.
Some kids may see that like a lump of coal, I see it as the beginning of a journey.

A very large trebuchet? I can see testing.... "Trouvez la vache!"
Then again, plywood might make a good fuel in a hybrid rocket motor. Add an oxidizer and light it.
