2.4GHz same as Bluetooth?

I'm looking at what the possibilities of doing some modern device connection to the Propeller.

I'm seeing a lot of Bluetooth items (This technology I understand to some degree), then I'm seeing a lot of 2.4GHz devices. (Generally priced less than the "Bluetooth" items.) Has someone established what the differences are (Other than name) on these devices?

Do we have a prayer of possibly hooking a 2.4Ghz keyboard or mouse, etc to a Propeller?

The only thing these 2.4GHz devices have in common is that they all use the same band of frequencies. Bluetooth, Wifi (several variations), xBee, and others are mutually incompatible (use different protocols), but all use the 2.4GHz band. Some WiFi also uses the 5GHz band.

The only way you could hook up one of those keyboards or mice that use a non-standard 2.4GHz protocol is to use their USB dongle and have the Propeller talk USB HID as a USB host.

That's wasn't the answer I was hoping for, but kinda figured. So if we're to get these devices working on the Propeller, it'll be a case-by-case basis. (Or just stick with Bluetooth stuff)

The low-cost nRF24L01+ modules available from several Ebay suppliers are quite easy to use with the Propeller.
