Package was copiously stamped "Received in damaged condition". Bulls**t!
Parallax does not send out packages in this condition!
Items inside were thankfully undamaged.

Just curious: when you placed your rush order, did you use the phrase, "And step on it" ??? :)

"Received in Damaged Condition" -- Are you freak'n kidding me? Yeah right.

I get stuff from Parallax all the time.. NOTHING ever goes out that looks like that.

Now, that package has seen some real handling! That's why I resent so-called "handling" charges from other vendors. After all, who wants their stuff "handled" like that?

Maybe the USPS decided to use it in a commercial with a gorilla to show how tough their Priority Mail boxes are. "It takes a licking and keeps on shipping!"

If you are out of the counytry there is not much you can do. I have seen this happen in customs before. However, if you are in the country both sender and receiver should file a complaint wiyh the USPS. A long time ago my brother sent a walking stick in the mail. it arrived broken in half with the same stamp on it. He went directly to the post office and they ended up giving him $100.00 for it because he had his receipt and was able to prove he was the one that sent it from a post office!!!

BTW, the "received in damaged condition" stamp may have been applied by the destination post office, not the distribution center of origin.

The Pony Express carried letters not packages. When started the rate was $5 per 1/2 oz. When the PE stopped, after 19 months, the rate was $1 per 1/2 oz. The rates were just for transporting the mail from/to St Joseph Missouri to San Francisco. Letters carried by the PE had USPS postage. That was 10 cents.

Live close to the Eastern terminal of the PE.

(rolls eyes) they probably didn't use ponies either but that's not the point.

Not real high on style points but at 200 tons you can really STICK the landing and that's important!!

BTW, your FedEx package just got crushed AND delayed in Texas: http://news.yahoo.com/massive-pileup-shuts-10-texas-2-dead-195305344.html What a mess: two killed, many injured.
