LTC1288 or MCP3004/3008?

Now that I've actually deigned and built what I was intending to, I of course find "alteratives" to the pieces I bought on line. This hobby is worse than Lowes, can't go near the place without spend, spend spend. My question is woud it be better from a power consumption, performance and foot-print point of view to use something like the MCP3004 or 3008? Right now I'm using 2 LTC1288s, going to 3. Would I be better of switching to a MCP3008? Hope that made sense

Based on the data sheet information I would think the MCP3004/3008 would be the better choice provided the price of the MCP is in line with the cost of 3 LTC's. You can replace 3 LTC1288's with one MCP chip and have extra channels as well as 12 bits vs 10 bits precision.
