To all,
I have been getting more and more into Forth on the Propeller and it suits me very well. I suspect that SPIN, PASM, and C are just less attractive as an entry point for at least some rank begineers. Forth has an appeal that is similar to an interpreted Basic - very quick results.

Rather than create a rather long and pedantic thread about Forth, I am now reviving my Blog entries to expound about my personal opinions and "hopefully" useful insights of how to go about learning Forth on the Propeller.

Up to now, my preference has been to stay with just one Forth as it can get rather confusing. AND I heavily endorse the Forth, Inc. version of "Starting Forth' by Leo Brodie as it has been revised to ANS Forth 94. The published and out-of-print versions (some of which have been converted to PDFs) are generally for a 1981 first edition and a 1987 second edition. That second edition was to the Forth 83 standard that has a reputation of not being a wise standard to impose. ANS Forth 94, reversed some of the decisions about Forth 83 and added significant improvements.

And to study ANS Forth 94 in its pure form..... Try a free download with tutorial of GForth for Windows or Linux.
