So Ive been trying to organize all my chips in a database thats easy for me to track what I have what IT does how many I have and the data sheets. Right now Im trying to collect most of the data sheets and I have a few 74xx chips from NXP but there data sheets generally suck big time, Is everything in TIs sheet genrally compatible with any other brand 74xx chip I mean these chips are all implemented the same way as far as internals correct? This isnt so important for the few 74HC chips I genrally use alot of but I also have a huge box of 74LS chips that are all different brands some of the manufactures of these older LS chips arent even around

Yes, as long as the xx is the same the logic function is the same. The letters in between the numbers (LS, C, HCT, ALS, etc.) indicate different speeds and operating voltage ranges.
