oh. goodness. I can see the TSA agents now completely flipping out over this. kitty better be ready for a full on cav_ty search to look for the 'splosive stuff ...eek!
It's quite inevitable baby sitters and parents will begin using these on their children, probably with added micro embedded cam and sound detection. In the future these will embed into sheets of polymer structure compatible with implantation under a few molecules of skin. To avoid tumors of cancerous radiation, induced low power radiative emissions will be limited to activating a nearby repeater. Powered by galvanic skin response, there's no need to have surgery to replace consumed batteries.
not to be a Buzz kill but I doubt this is the 1st time a datalogger is on a cat,,,,
My cat had a Transmitter on him Years ago so that can let him loose in the yard and still find him ..
It REALLY ticked him off that I could find him no matter where he hid ..
There are numerous web sites devoted to kitty cams (the cam goes around the cat's neck) that take video of a cat's escapades. It really is remarkable where they go and what they do.
I'm not sure why cats need the internet given that there is only one single global cat conciousness shared among all cats. But this is just the cats way of getting onto youtube, facebook etc.

Maybe there is a market for a wireless shoe cam that is linked to a live feed via one's cell phone. We could watch the whole world go by from a cockroaches point of view.

It would definitely be interesting if the shoe cam is being worn by the cockroach. Some are so large in Taiwan, they're known to chase after people on the sidewalk and stare into their eyes. This would be an opportunity to see if they're singling out people with certain characteristics. The Cockroach Cam could be a hit, even more interesting than the Cat Cam.
Taiwan has cracked down in recent years on odd characters with small cams that are able to record 'below the hemline' on subway station escalators. But if one doesn't abuse other's privacy (and their privates), I see no harm in a roving view of the world.
I already live on a street that have 4 or 5 video cameras monitoring on a 24/7 basis, and there are 3 more in the buildings hallways.
BTW, I am beginning to wonder if Parallax Forums are the only electornic geek forum with an active dialogue for pet owners.

This statement obviously does not apply to cats. They move to get food or get comfortable.
