Ping Sensor Board

edited 2012-10-17 08:45 in General Discussion
i was going to have a board that 6 Acrylic PING sensors and 2 fall detectors(Sharp IR Sensor) hook upto the ping sensors want and IR Sensors will be as followed
1 - front left
2 - front center
3 - front right
4 - rear left
5 - rear center
6 - rear right

and i want them on a small circuit board all 3 front Ping sensors will connect and only send back a signal if somthing is close(20cm) and a nother signal with the one that has objects farthest away. then do the same with the back side.

any ideas on how would help
thanks

Let me begin by welcoming you to the Parallax forums.

In most instances, you would have had many responses by this time, but your goal is very unclear. Please rewrite your goal with a fair amount of detail, and If necessary, please have someone translate your goal into grammatically correct English, so that we may be able to understand your goal and provide you with assistance.

    Hello Dustin,

Do you need to mount the sensors directly on the board or just connected to it? It would probably be easier to mount the sensors where you want them and just bring all the wires back to your controller board.

Do you have a specific microcontroller for this project? A Propeller board should be able to handle all the sensors and report back the status that you want (and also provide a lot more details) There is already a PING object to read those sensors to make writing the code easier.

For the IR sensors what kind are you going to use? Are they the digital ones with a set distance or are you going to use the Analog versions to try and measure the distance.

You'll need to provide some more details if you want some more help.
