Parallax Optical Finger Nav sensor in MAKE #32

Those who read MAKE Magazine may want to check out issue #32, which just came out, for a simple project built around the Parallax Optical Finger Navigator sensor. It's a keyless lock box that uses finger gestures as the combination. It uses an Arduino as the controller (could easily be substituted with a QuickStart), the sensor, and a Parallax standard servo. And yes, I wrote the article.

I see Parallax has the OFNs on sale right now. These are are very under-rated little critters, and deserve a look-see. The OFN is easy to work with -- it uses I2C interfacing and a very simple command structure -- and has some intriguing possibilities.

That does look nifty. I have one of those on my pile of sensors to evaluate. So many parts, so little time!

I had won an OFN on the 25th anniversary and funnily enough traded it for an arduino becuase I just couldnt see a good use for it, and wouldnt you know it lately ive been finding all kinds of use cases for it, but this i something I would have never even thought of way to think outside the box!

Can this be done with a Stamp? If so, How would I code it?
