    .. and now we know that all went well! Congrats to Mr. Baumgartner, and there's the possibility that this has opened up for a bail-out option from manned spacecraft. Of course the shuttle is no more, but it's an intriguing (although of the million-to-one, it just-might-work type) option for such craft.

    I had the same feeling. With all the automatic back-ups, like releasing a drogue chute when G-forces from flat spins exceed a safe threshold, most anyone with skydiving experience and money could pay to take the Big Step. I'd pay to take the Big Step in a heartbeat.

    Saw that yesterday morning. Didn't seem to have all the hype Red Bull put out on the previous jump.
