This would have been a very tasty deal before the QuickStart became available.

I've got about 5 or 6 of these kits in a box... I put 2-3 of them together... not really worth it IMHO. Good for tedious soldering skill improvement.

Speaking of which, now that the Quickstart board is here, who among us will use the 40-pin DIP Propeller chips from the mystery bag? Isn't that a rite of passage? Don't let the wife make jewelry out of them, Guys! :)

I was glad to get a couple of them in my (2) mystery bags. I managed to connect unregulated VIN to a bread board in the wrong place and instead going to the VR it went directly to my Prop DIP. Now that one is only good for jewelry.

Stick one on a Quickstart proto board with a couple capacitors and you have an easy slave propeller for multi-propeller PropForth! Easy-peasy!!

Hey, easy! I actually like this board. (The 2" square form factor is why) Before I had my PowerTwig/M44D40+ combo, I used one of these for a prototype. It allowed me to put the entire project into a 2.5" cubed box. I didn't care for the "trainer" pads for the ICs, but having the option for SMT or TH for many parts is a nice touch.

    Nice board, good value.

But I dislike barrel plugs as they consume far more space that necessary just to make sure a novice will not get the power reversed. They interfer with making compact designs have well thought out power distribution.
