TDA7052A Amplifier project (Video)

I finally completed my little amplifier project. It uses the TDA7052A 1 watt audio amplifier IC.

I found some nice little 41x71 mm speakers at Mouser that supposedly go down to 100Hz.

A little bigger than a VEHO 360 but sounds a bit better as well...

Was it this speaker? Speakers are one thing I will not buy at Mouser/DigiKey because they just don't have anything good for a reasonable price, especially for hobby projects. They're okay if you will be needing 10,000 identical speakers later, but Parts Express and MCMElectronics are much better for HiFi-type stuff.

Also, the most important parameters of a speaker (Fs, Vas, Qts) are not listed on the PUI datasheet.

Here is a speaker that's been available on buyout for a long time and will most likely sound much better in your box. This one is new there, and looks like it probably would be available for project customers. I have a few of these and they are fantastic - highly recommended.

Yes, the PUI speaker is the one I used. Parts Express does seem to have a good selection of speakers.

The PUI speaker uses a neodymium magnet and only weighs 38 grams (~ 1.4 ounces) - much lighter than ferrite speakers

    Thanks for the links!

The last one I linked is NdFeB. I also have some Neodymium subwoofer drivers from PE (TB W6-1139si) that I used to have in my car before I decided to sell it. They're not particularly light, but I think the ferrite version of the same speakers weigh about 10lbs. I had never heard a good pipe organ rendition from a 6" speaker before getting these.

    Ron,

That's WAY too many components. :)

    Very Nice, thanks for sharing.

I made a second amplifier in a smaller project box.

The smaller box uses 4 AAA batteries instead of AA.
