DropBox, SPIN files, and Android Phone Problem

How can I view my Dropbox saved SPIN files on my Android Cell Phone?

I save all of my Propeller Projects on Dropbox, therefore they are all available at each computer that I use.

BUT, I have not found a way to view SPIN files on my Android Cell phone. I would like the ability to show, or review a Method while away from my computer. The SPIN files are listed in my Cell Phone Dropbox APP directory, but I can not access them. I get ERROR: "Download an APP to read this File Type".

I know this is really a DropBox issue, but wondering if anyone solved or found a way around this problem. Google searches has not helped.

I think what is needed is a "generic plain text viewer" for Dropbox.

Has anyone had or solved this problem.

Thanks
Eldon

Just login to dropbox using the browser and click on the file. The browser will open the file.

Otherwise set a .spin file association to a text editor on your android.

Ok, but it would be nice not to have a browser open just to look a file.

This is what I would like to do, but via what magic is it done?

    Thanks

The iPhone version of the Dropbox app can read plain text files including Spin files. I suspect that the Android version may do the same.

Some program has to open and view the file. What's wrong with using a browser? You said in all you wanted to do was view the file. The other options require a download and configuration.

There also the export feature. Drop the file in a directory on the SD card then use whatever text editor to view the file. You need a text editor and a file manager application.

Thanks, the guys on the forum come through!!

It worked! It is easy, Touchqode is automatic, does not require a messy attended download, nor any file transfers, nor file system directory navigation. It is accessed as a part of my DropBox App.

I can now just touch a file name in the DropBox APP, and start viewing - that is the way an APP should behave - Easy.

    Thanks,

OK, now that I have installed Touchqode, the Dropbox APP suggest several Editors for *.spin files.

So, I am not sure what installing Touchqode did to my Android configuration, It now works with several editors from which to choose.

Thanks, I am thankful for all of the advice provided here.

    Eldon

BTW: (I may uninstall Touchqode to see if all of the editor choices still exist !)

    UPDATE:

Dang, I uninstalled Touchqode - now Dropbox does not allow other editors to access my SPIN files - What's with that!

AIDE integrates with DropBox, and should be very nice.

I forgot... with dropsync you can syn a dropbox folder and subfolders, if space is enough.
If you buy the full version you can sync more than one directory.
