Has anyone tried this module with the prop? HC-04 At USD 13.92 per module (including shipment) & its small package size (28mm x 15mm x 2.35mm), seems like a bargain.

Comm baud rate is up to 1,382,400 but it recommended not to exceed 115,200 bps.

we use the 05 and 06 and they "just work" after the setup scripts. they were cheaper so we didnt need to try the 04

Thanks prof_braino. Were you able to change the bluetooth name with 05 or 06? I can ask the manufacturer but was wondering if you had already tried that. I only saw that with the 04 model.

im not sure if im using the 05 or 04 i will have to look when i get home. But i payed MUCH less and my module came with a cable and breakout board if think it was 4 bucks on ebay. I also have the pdf that has the pin listing and another with an AT command reference. I have not figured out how to change the name but maybe you can via an AT command

    @ MacTuxLin

Those are the same Bluetooth moduels I was looking at as a replacement for the eb300's and eb500's, I've seen them at other online stores; and according to the pdf's theu have the same pinouts and command setup... just add your support components; signal conditioners 5v/3.3v, power circuit regulator, etc.... I never got around making a board out of them.... i was thinking of making a connector for the Board of Education (X1), and for the New Propeller Board of Education Heard (cant remember the name of right now), so the Bluetooth board can be pluged into any of those boards..... theres no need for an antena since its already build in..... these bluetooth moduels I belive can be used for the MSRDS code already out there, just never had the time to test them same chip and all (has a "Status PIN")....

Thanks rwgast_logicdesign. Got the documents & yes, you're right. The name can be changed via the AT commands. Besides the price, I wonder what's the diff between 04 & 05 since the specs are exactly the same other than the diff in AT command for changing name & passkey... The price listed on their web-site is USD 4.20 per pcs, about the same as what you got from ebay, but the transport fee is USD 8 then the paypal fees. I'll probably go for the 05 after a bit more reading.

    Cheers.

    Thanks Mike.

Yes, the price & its tiny footprint makes it the more interesting to be designed into my next controller revision ...

These were discussed at length some time ago on this thread and quite a few forum members are using them including myself.

    Peter.... that is AWSOME!!

Of course, I need to get oneof your BT Moduels..... currently I will be very busy to get into details; to let you know of the Specs I need, to make sure its campatible with the MSRDS code (its not complicated) just need a few line to get back and forth.... I looks very interesting.... I'll get back to you in the other thread as soon as I can with all the details I need.....

    keep up the good work

    cheers
