I wonder how energy efficient the Theo Walkers are? They sort of boil down to two wheel differential steering when you think about it.

While technically neat riding the one wheel bike on the sidewalk sort of annoys me. I went to the website and he can do it because it is classified as a mobility scooter, but it seems like a bit of a hazard.

One thing I find very interesting about these designs is how the proportions, spacing and number of legs really effects how "alive" it seems.
I would love to build/find a good 8 legged design, add a sensor turret on top and have a really cool robot to play with. For some reason these designs just seem so much more interesting to me than traditional jointed servo legs.

He sounds really nervous in the TED talk, but his machines make me think of the heyday of Victorian inventors who made amazing mechanical machines.

Klann linkage is pretty good too. Doesn't seem as popular for some reason.
