Opportunity has been "on task" for 8 1/2 years now. 'Not bad for a rover designed for three months of service!

I think it's a sign there were rabbits on Mars at one time -- lots of them! :)

Spherical objects concentrated at an outcrop called Kirkwood on the western rim of Endeavour Crater differ in several ways from iron-rich spherules nicknamed "blueberries" the rover found at its landing site in early 2004.

Back to blueberries. The photo is 2 1/4" across.

Why am I getting the feeling that there really isn't much to see on Mars? Mostly we have been looking at Curiosity's hardware.

Hmm...they kind of look like that carpet of eggs found in a cave in the firat Alien movie. Looks like some of them have hatched already.

To me it looks like a few of the pop tart sprinkles have been rubbed off.

Neil Armstrong felt that his footprint on the moon was not a big deal, in relative terms. Getting there was the real achievement. You would have to add getting back was a big deal too.

It looks like the Chinese rock foot massage I saw at the park. I think the really good stuff is hiding under the soil. (water, frost, soil nutrients, UV protection, small Martian fossils, ocean relics, life...)
