Gordan be glad you don't live here in the center of the state, my eyelid's melted long ago. But I am from Oceanside (close to San Diego) and 106 I can't even imagine. When I was young down there we didn't have A/C, I would have died at 106.

    Dude! "Bakersfield, Ca USA"

What part of "baker" don't you understand!! (And yeah, Baker, CA is even worse.)

Downtown SD is cooler, as it's right on the ocean. I'm a bit inland, but even farther inland is worse. They get these temps sometimes in the LA valleys, but it's very rare for down here. In fact, I think LA temps are a bit lower today.

I don't think it got out of the low 70's here in Central Texas today. It was overcast and humid, though.

I live in Phoenix. The last few days have been really nice - upper 90s. It's usually a 100 something.

    Roy,

Bellevue? That's close to Redmond. Is there a connection that we need to know about?

If it's not on the Parallax forum in text form, my sole source of everything in the world worth knowing ... well ... it just isn't news -- or above suspicion. :)

So do tell; bring this hot info in from the fringes of webdom and post it here to make it official.

Never fear, Roy works for someone else than who you're thinking, though his boss used to work for that someone else.

You know how Erco has a job that people can only dream about? Well, so does Roy.

PS: I don't think his new employer is a secret, as he announced it on Facebook, but I'm leaving it to him to say.

I was in Phoenix on a business trip once, I think it was 1999 or maybe 1998. For the entire week there was a heat wave with daily highs over 115 pushing 120, and overnight lows in the very upper 80s. It wasn't too bad though because the humidity was pretty low.
