Interfacing SSC32 with Parallax Eddie Control Board

Hi,

I am trying to interface a SSC32 with eddie control board. Below is a schematic which I have thought of without much hardware experience. Any suggestions please.

    According to the SSC32 documentation, the VL line should be powered by 6V to 9V. The 5V from the Eddie board wont work.

    It would be helpful if you would provide links to products you are asking about. Particularly non-Parallax products.
