    The extrusion will work, but not at the length (2.75") sold with the cited kit. The Spinneret board is 3.80" long. Also, if you use the bottom slot, you will be relying upon the soldermask to insulate traces from the aluminum extrusion. The next slot up might be a better choice. Either that, or add strips of insulating tape to the bottom of the board near the edges.

    BTW, the extrusion kit was designed before either Parallax or I obtained a laser cutter. With the laser, it is much easier now to make the end and top panels for the extrusion. Perhaps Parallax could be coaxed to make an enclosure kit tailored to the Spinneret.

    There was talk about a Spinneret 2. Since it would use SPI to talk to the WizNet chip, there would be more pins. They could use them for another daughterboard header (or 2) and make an enclosure for it, which would be really nice. For now, however, does anyone make an enclosure for the Spinneret 1?
