Modifying the USB RFIS Reader kit to read Animal RFID chips

I recently purchased the USB RFID kit and am well pleased with it.
I really wanted to read Animal RFID chips and notice the the actual RFID chip used is also capable of reading these chips, so I suspect that re-programmng the micro-controller should allow the reading of the these tags?
If so, before I consider how to do this, has anyone tried this, or has access or is willing to share the source code, rather than start from the beginning...
Cheers

There are some glass encapsulated RFID tags that work with the RFID reader module already. They're not certified for implantation though. Any tags designed to operate at 125KHz using EM410x format data will work. Other frequency tags simply cannot work with the reader and reading other format tags is not something we can help you with.
