power issues using 3 ping sensors

Hi,

I have a problem with my propeller board of education.
When I use one ping sensor it works fine, but when I use 2 ping or 3 sensors it looks like the power led fades, and i always get the error could not make connections
I use rechargeable batteries on the standard 4 2500mA in the battery holder of my boebot.(the batteries are fine, i tried with 4 others, same result
Does anyone have encountered the same issue, and how can this be fixed?

Assuming NiMh batteries rated at nominally 1.2 volts, a BOE-Boost Module http://www.parallax.com/StoreSearchResults/tabid/768/txtSearch/battery/List/0/SortField/4/ProductID/455/Default.aspx may help. That would take Vin to a nominal 6 volts, the same as 4 akline batteries.

Doesn't matter what you assume NiMH are 1.3V or so, 4 of them fully charged is 5.4V.

Ping sensors say 35mA max current so 3 of them shouldn't cause problems unless one of them is defective or there's a short circuit in the wiring.
