What would you do with harmonic drives?

I bought two large Baldor servo motors, complete with encoders and 50:1 Harmonic Drive off eBay a while ago (only $80 for both). I can't decide what to do with them. Any suggestions?
That's assuming the gears are still good. I've been trying to take them apart for a few days, but don't want to force anything. I called Harmonic Drive and got a diagram, and was also told these were sold in '97. Even if the gearheads aren't any good, those are still decent motors/encoders.

The concept of a classic harmonic drive is interesting in its own right. High reduction ratio and low backlash.
I'm building a sun tracker for some solar panels and such a reducer would be ideal....alas I already have a more conventional gearbox and motor on hand.
Be careful taking it apart....lots of neat things to look at inside!

The more I mess with these servos, the more I think the gearheads are broken. I can't see any other reason why they would have gone for so cheap.

I think this will inspire phase 2 of the Little Robot project.
