I am not sure if I can use 555 timer on my Basic Stamp. I want to get the exact time cost by a loop in order to integrate the angular rate (the data got from my gyro) to angle. I have not find a good way to do the integration. Because I never used 555 timer before, could somebody tell me the procedure? Thanks

The 555 timer is not a good choice for this type of timing. You need a timer or real time clock with a crystal oscillator that can give you at least millisecond accuracy. Microsecond timing would be even better.
