Originally trained as a mechanical engineer, I worked for a number of years in Silicon Valley designing and building factory automation.
Well. Seeing what it can do to a person, I'm glad I got out of that career while I could! :) (There may be some who claim that it wasn't unscathed, however.)

It would be a hit in bars, especially if he doubled the speed of it. Though I can think of a few South American countries who would be interested in it as well, though not for entertainment per se.

I remember seeing a video from NatGeo about the military researching automated interrogation devices. Stick the prisoner in a modern day Iron Maiden and let the computers physically and mentally pulp him into spilling the beans. It was really gruesome.

I'm lovin' that single band-aid on his pointer.

This would be a great BS2 2-servo starter project. Hmmm.

His style is too clinical and clean for the knife robot - splintered base board with bloodstains and damaged knife point would really add something!

Also a panel that lights up halfway through flashing "Malfunction!" in red would be a nice touch.

Guess I'm more into the Tim Hunkin style of strange machines: http://www.timhunkin.com/

I read the statement page on his website. For him it's a form of art.
