Spin files are now being saved as locked

Recently for no obvious reason all files getting saved into parallax>propellertool are being saved as locked files. I can see the files to open them from BST or Proptool, but cannot see the files by looking in the folder itself. If I save a file to the desktop, it is visible on the desktop and is not locked. If I drag the desktop version to the parallax folder, it becomes visible and no longer shows the lock icon. I looked at the properties for the folder but do not see anything that seems like it should make all files locked and hidden except by the application. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Win7?

Are you logged in as a local admin? Is the proptool running as admin?

Yes, there is only one log in user, I don't see anything different than all other log in's prior. Win7. There is only one user icon at the main screen after booting, but I do not have it set to require a password so just clicking on the user icon opens up the desktop. I do recall that lately I have been doing more spacebar presses to bypass the user selection screen, but I do not know if that could make a difference and I am not at the computer now.

The lock overlay is mostly likely file permissions. Right click - properties - make sure the expected users show up. File permissions are/can be inherited from the parent directory.

Add "Everyone" to the file/folder permission and reboot to verify.

I bet you have Windows 7.

The files are hiding in the "virtual store".

This is where my Spin files end up a lot of the time.

    "C:\Users\Duane\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\Parallax Inc\Propeller Tool v1.2.7 (R2)"

This is when I'm saving files to the v1.2.7 directory.

I think this is a side effect of the Prop Tool using the "Program Files" folder for data files. Apparently data files aren't supposed to be saved in the "Program Files" folder.

I have never run into that problem. Perhaps this is because I copied the library and simple template file to my data directory and went to Edit >> Preferences in the propeller tool and set the New File Template to ....Parallax\Propeller\Simple_Spin_Template.

I also have a ....Parallax\Propeller\Projects\(project name) folder for each project and do a "save as" into that folder as soon as I open a template to create a new object.
