I need a method to "dock" and change and Eddie /w laptop-tablet. Anyone have an existing design they'd be willing to share with me? I'm also open to purchase a readymade dock if available or if someone was willing to build.
I use charging hoops for the charger and contact "bars" on the 'bot for my own self-docking 'bots. The attached is a 'bot that is a bit bigger and heavier than the Eddie.
Finding the charger is done through two IR detectors that look for a specific IR code being sent by the dock. A vane between the detectors prevents both detectors from seeing the code unless the dock is dead ahead.

Are you looking to charge both the batteries as well as the laptop? Two different charging supplies or adapters, or separate for each?
Anybody have any ideas to throw into the mix? - a docking station wish-list ?...
