Moon Machines

I ran across this excellent documentary on YouTube. It's about the people that built the machines that took us to the Moon.

Despite being a big time fan of all things Space, I had never seen it before. It's only available in 240p on YouTube, but if you check the usual places you may be able to find better. I think almost everyone here would enjoy the episode about the Apollo Guidance Computer. This was at the dawn of integrated circuit technology and software, extremely interesting stuff. There are 6 episodes covering the entire Apollo program. I really liked the one about the Lunar Module, it was such a specific, purpose built machine.

This is a very good series that was very enjoyable (history, discovery or science channel - not sure).

There is a very good book by Eldon Hall on the computer. He was the main designer and the book is one of my favorites - thought it is a hefty $60.
