Tomorrow is the official "opening day" of the new Propellerpowered shop.
(It's open now, but prizes will be given away on Wednesday. -- More about this in the morning.)

A lot of you know that I've been working with Nick of Gadget Gangster, handling the shipment of product for the last few months. This will continue to happen and you will receive GG packages as fast as always! We will also be continuing to record "The Prototypers" podcast.

PROPELLERPOWERED SHOP:
http://www.propellerpowered.com

In the beginning, you'll see products which will be sold in both shops. For instance, you can purchase a Quickstart Extreme in both places this morning. As we move forward, you'll see variations of product between the two stores. Open source designs of Quickstart add-on boards will evolve in two directions creating diverse options, and new items are in the works. The goal of Propellerpowered will be stocking items which are relevant specifically to the Propeller user.

I invite you to drop in and look around. About half of the expected inventory has arrived, so many more items will be stocked throughout the month of August.

Jeff

Well, aren't you going to place an order, erco? You're the On-line Shopping King of California (ISKoC) and you wouldn't want to loose your title. Those little girls look forward to the UPS truck, I'm sure.

I'm sure Jeff has something that I "can't live without"... things like USB fishtanks and Star Trek pizza cutters!

Looks great. But I have one minor suggestion for the benefit of people like me: perhaps each component you offer could have a small article about what it's used for and why I can't live without it. For example, you might tell people why they might want a bag of 2N3904's instead of 2N3906's and vice versa. Or perhaps even cross-categorize some stuff, like having a "current limiting resistors" selection and explain a little about why those are useful. Anyway, just a thought. Good luck with the store.

    @ElectricAye,

Great minds think alike! Yes, that is EXACTLY where I'm going with this. Check out the PS/2 Adapter and RCA Adapter pages for examples.

Actually, there are times when I wish I could hire you to do my product sourcing with all the cool goodies you've helped me spend money on. :)

Yep, that's exactly the kind of thing I had in mind. Perfect! Looking forward to how all of this turns out.

:/ Have I missed the badge giveaways? I checked the site 4:30am Pacific and it was up and now at 9:30 Pacific and now, haven't seen anything about a badge giveaway, I never win free stuff anyways, Is there a link to buy the badges?

Anyways great store, good prices most of all! I think it will do really well as long as you keep the product line up fresh! I really appreciate the extra mile you have went to supply the learning resources and detailed product directions!

I confirm that we will be providing one (1) DEFCON badge for Propellerpowered's grand opening. How Jeff decides to award it is entirely up to him and his crew.

We don't have extras of these, and even if we did we couldn't readily hand them out. They were made for a specific customer (DEFCON) as part of their $200 registration fee for the conference and we wouldn't want to undermine their efforts after the event by being a back door supplier. I'm seeing some of the HUMAN variants show up on eBay and I bet they can be purchased for about $40-50 at the auction's end. Search http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_trksid=p5197.m570.l1313&_nkw=def+con+20+human+badge&_sacat=0 for a couple.

I've received some emails this morning regarding questions about Gadget Gangster, Propellerpowered, and specifically the Pocket Mini Computer project.

    Here's my official statement:

Hopefully, this will clarify things a little.

BTW, that DEFCON badge was awesome! It hurt to put it in a package and ship it, but it's on it's way. :):)
