So I bought these thinking they were a little larger than they are. Pictures are always deceiving!!!! These are hearing aid sized. Any how, two of them light up my 3V red LED quite brightly. I am going to see how long the LED will last before it starts dimming and then goes all the way dead.

Edit: LED dimming (very slightly) after 20 minutes.

Edit: LED still emitting strong light after 3 hours.

I can see how these could be useful.
Using conductive glue might work well
with these as you could easily glue the
wires on and then wrap a bit of electrical tape
around the cell and stick into a project.
    Or mount with hot glue.

I also don't see how they can sell these at
    this price.

Have you ever been in Radio Shack when they did NOT ask you if you needed batteries? I'm sure they have some really fat margins on batteries.

Anyone besides me recall the Shack's "Battery of the Month" club? They were free!

I was a proud member of the battery of the month club for a number of my formative years!! I may have held multiple memberships at different stores for some period of time.....before they had computers to check this kind of stuff.

How many buttons cells would it take to power a conveyor to keep a jet plane from taking off?

Maybe at just 3 cents a piece it might be possible.

Put 'em all in series, you'll have a 160V battery for 3 bucks.

    Briefly. :)
