4000 mAh 3S battery, 25C Gens Ace from Hobbypartz.com.

My favorite for capacity/weight/cost/performance.

Any other suggestions? I'm having a hard time finding that battery in stock anywhere and I'm dying to get my copter airborne!

Have you checked HobbyKing.com?

They take about three weeks to ship but if you can find the item at a local warehouse the shipping is a lot faster.

Have you gotten airborne yet?

I recently aquired and built an ELEV-8 myself and I've been using 5,000mAh packs like these.

The 20C/30C version above is on backorder right now by they also have a 25C version that is currently in stock.

I think the 5Ah packs work great with the ELEV-8.

I find my 5Ah packs lasts about 15 minutes so I think the current averages around 20 Amps or 4C for the pack.

I ordered some current measuring equipment from HobbyKing in hopes of getting a better idea of what the peak current draw is in a flight.
