Hey Lawrence,
4000 mAh 3S battery, 25C Gens Ace from Hobbypartz.com.
My favorite for capacity/weight/cost/performance.

Any other suggestions? I'm having a hard time finding that battery in stock anywhere and I'm dying to get my copter airborne!

Have you checked
HobbyKing.com
?
They take about three weeks to ship but if you can find the item at a
local warehouse
the shipping is a lot faster.

msh5686,
Have you gotten airborne yet?
I recently aquired and built an ELEV-8 myself and I've been using 5,000mAh packs like these.

The 20C/30C version above is on backorder right now by they also have a
25C version
that is currently in stock.
I think the 5Ah packs work great with the ELEV-8.
I find my 5Ah packs lasts about 15 minutes so I think the current averages around 20 Amps or 4C for the pack.
I ordered some current measuring equipment from HobbyKing in hopes of getting a better idea of what the peak current draw is in a flight.
