Busted by GPS and the Internet, this moron's phone is smarter than he is! He fully deserved to be fired and should banned from society: Take him to Detroit! (obscure Kentucky Fried Movie reference)

According to another report, when questioned the offender said " I hope they don't lettuce off"

Perhaps he keeps uploading cute pics like that even after he's in prison and working in the kitchen... He'll make friends quickly.

They absolutely mustard haul him off in a patty wagon and hold his buns in solitary condiment. No soft-serve time for that guy!

He really did. But, the dumb "a" should still be banned from from this society after he eats the lettuce that he stepped on

BK found out who he was and what is his punishment...He gets fired from a minimum wage job. He doesn't even get identified... Big whoop.

BK and other fast food joints need to do more to stop these kind of "pranks".

The manager should have been fired too. And the board of health should shut down the joint for a month or two.

Yeah, it would have been "really funny" if someone had gotten sick and died because of this punk.

I believe tampering with the food supply is a federal offense.

He should have been given 30 days in jail with all his meals served on the floor.

If your ultimate goal is to walk on water, you've got to start somewhere.

    Lettuce pray.

Ahh NO!! Don't send that moron anywhere near this area. Ship him of to somewhere else instead... Perhaps a place that prepares food the way he did...

Years ago, we had someone adding "their own personal" version of mayo to sandwiches at a fast food location in my old hometown. "No Mayo" has been policy for quite a while as well.

No lettuce, is probably not a bad idea considering how badly it is handled in general even when it isn't being stepped in. :)

For some reason, these young people do not understand that there are video security cameras everywhere, texting leaves a written record of conversations, and there are all sorts of ways to track activities - your location, etc.

So they go and do illegal things and leave a big legal evidence trail!

Same with texting or using the cell phone while driving. That leaves a time stamp. Easy for cops to check to see what you were doing when you ran over that guy in the wheel chair!

"GPS data on cellphone photos..." Hmmm... just another reason that I've refused anything but the barebones cell phone... no camera, no GPS. The darned things are watching us.

Next we will have Google Glass setting us all straight.

I'm pretty sure your cell phone has a GPS in it, but they're generally configured to not transmit your location unless you dial the local emergency number (911 in the US).

I would like to know how the cell phone GPS technology works and if the average user can do the same. I take a lot of pictures with my cell phone but I do not upload them to anything but my own computer. It would be nice to be able to track down where I was when I took a picture ten years from now!!!

The cell phone does not need a GPS to know where it is, it only need to know the ID of the 2-3 nearest base stations - and then triangulate. A close friend works in the police; it is incredible what the forensic guys can get out of a cell phone, such as a backtrace of your walk last week, for one. As an engineer I do not understand how/where all that data is, but it IS. @NWCCTW all you have to do is to committ a suitable crime, and those guys will sort out your pictures, no worry.

Nope, I am absolutely sure I don't have GPS. It is an old clamshell Samsung. This is Taiwan cellular service, not USA. These days, when you are living in a foreign country, it is best to not make it easy for the powers that be to watch you.

I did read somewhere that the US Government required all cellular phone sold to now have GPS. And even Bluetooth can be pinged to monitor if the phone is on or off.

Every night when I walk the dog, I still pass by at least a half dozen video cams that feed directy to the police. Add in all the cellular phones and iPads with cameras and only a complete idiot does something that he things no one will notice.

Its actually really easy, the GPS cords are stored in the EXIF data, Pretty sure any recent version of Windows or Mac you can just look at the picture properties and it will tell you were it was taken. Lot of online photo sites now read this data and will automatically map everywhere you have taken pictures.. Now they also make applications that will strip the EXIF data so the cords are not in the picture.

Norway ... EU data laws Make all cell carriers retain data . its was on the news just a few days ago .

Granted the Crime's intensity dictates how deep a search can go .

lifting a beer from a 7-11 is not gonna be enough to have them do a nation wide search on the data .

but kidnaping is . so lets say they suspeted some one of the crime . and the crime was the missing Beer .
OK the most they can do is see if you were in the City ..... as a Yes or no . not WHere you are .....

    its a stepped system ...........

In the US only the NSA really has a drag net ,,., not for long .....

and Folks the NSA cant break the laws of physics .

the GPS down link is a VERY narrow band to just notch out .

People if you are soo worried and dont mind a cavity fillter on your phone .
then just filter out the GPS down link Sig as it goes on in to its Chip .
and If you are really lucky then the GPS is its own radio on the phone;s board . just snip the ANT lead in to the bare chip no filter needed ....................... my Old Palm was like this ...... one chip was the CDMA and one was clearly the GPS .

Phones work with NO GPS . think of it as a perma tunnel .

as far as TDOA or trang . Well Heck I Can do the same with a 60 dollar scanner and a 40 dollar Yagi . .Its called ham radio ARDF or T hunting ........ I used to do it as a sport for Years .
