When scrolled, this web page font changes...

I've never noticed this before. At first I thought it was my aging eyesight. Go to http://www.makerbot.com/, at the center of the page directly under the video is "MakerBot Blog". Watch those words and scroll the page up and down and see if the font goes through any changes. For me, it appears that when the text is high on the page font smoothing switches off. When it is low on the page the text gets bolder.

Anybody know why?

edit: This happens in Safari but not Firefox.

I see that difference in the angle that I'm looking at the LCD. Looking from a lower angle, colors darken, so the font looks heavier.

Nah, it's not due to the angle. It's quite noticeable in Safari but it does not occur using Firefox. I'll see if I can get a screen cap...

I don't see it with Safari or Firefox on my iMac. (If you hadn't posted images to prove it, I would have blamed it on your progressive-lens sunglasses. )
