Easy Bluetooth, BoeBot and MSRS Issues

I am stumped here. I have followed the examples in the videos from posts here: http://forums.parallax.com/showthread.php?138582-BoeBot-Connection-to-MSRD-R3-R4
I am using a wall wart so I know power is not the problem. I am wondering if this is because the Easy Blue Tooth module is not compatible. The examples show an EB500 and 301. I am getting a connection in MSRS as this shows up in the manifest. However, when I run the program all I get is the light blinking on the EBT. None of the functions for the Dashboard work. I have downloaded the updated code to the BoeBot and it does the same thing.
If anyone out there knows what I am doing wrong please let me know. I have been hacking at this for 2 days now and I really need it to work.
