Emic 2 speaks!

Just received my Emic 2 today and I recorded it saying "forward" on my computer which sounds amazing in 5.1 surround even though it is mono. It also sounds very good plugged into the Veho 360 speaker. But the forum won't let me upload a .wav file or I would let you hear at least the default voice.

Edit: it is in the zip file. Now correct file

You can always zip the .wav file and upload it that way.

I added it to the top thread, I think the recording volume was a little low.

Emic 2 is totally amazing, hats off to Joe Grand. Too bad it is likely to be the nail in the coffin of a full-blown propeller tts effort.

erco the Emic 2 work's with the BasicStamp although you would have to get creative how to store what you wanted it to say if you had alot to say!

Hey, you young whippersnapper, I've been around long enough to know when I'm being goaded! :)

    Hi,

I am new to Robotics but not programming. I have the Emic-2 TTS module and Veho speaker as well as the STAMP serial board. I don't see how to connect the TTS module to the Stamp module for the Serial input to TTS.

I see how to do power and speakers though.

The TTS PDF file shows what needs to be connected but not the Serial input from STAMP module to TTS board.

    Any help appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Gary

In the Basic Stamp example on the product page, It shows the EMIC TX and RX connected to the BS2 PIN0 and PIN1, (look at the I/O definitions in the program.

    Thanks for quick reply
    The code says;

EMIC_TX PIN 0 ' Serial output (connects to Emic 2 SIN)EMIC_RX PIN 1 ' Serial input (connects to Emic 2 SOUT)

Where is EMIC_RX and EMIC_RX connectors on STAMP module ?

See attachment snapshot. I don't see where to connect jumpers.

    Thanks,

    Gary

Pin 0 is labeled P0 on the module.

This little guy is awesome. I started a driver in SPIN, not up to to OBJECT standards, but it's a start. At the moment the display commands are not implemented, nor are the dectalk commands... but the basic functionality is represented.
