I noticed that the compression ratio was 1%. So, no real gain there. It would be nicer if I could just hit run from the internet web page and not have to manually unzip it.

Yeah... I'm nit picking. So far, I really like how fast the program is.

Thanks,

Kye, the main reason to distribute as a .zip file is because Norton anti-virus will automatically delete a .exe that doesn't have a reputation.
To post a .exe installer we will have to submit to the insurance methodology once things are shown to be stable and high enough quality.

    Ohhh, that's a shame.

Similarly, I just downloaded and installed doxygen and the same thing happened. I don't have Norton, but Windows seriously warned me not to install it.

Is that because end users with Norton will have this issue? I personally consider Norton a scourge and would say those that install it get what they deserve after seeing it munch several folks systems. I guess they have enough end-user market share that you have to submit to this kind of thing?

Whatever happened to just changing the .exe to .something else and downloading it that way?

The idea is so you can just hit "run" when downloading. So, it can be downloaded to the temp directory, run, and then thrown away.
