You can get a pretty good idea from a search on YouTube for DECtalk. Also, any Stephen Hawking videos will show the DECtalk in action.

This is the DECtalk example that came up with my search.

The product page says it has nine voices. Pretty cool IMO.

I don't know where the Parallax Expo video streams are stored, but Joe Grand demonstrated the Emic II in a presentation durning the Expo.

Pretty much the same voices that have available since the original DECtalk from the 80's.

IMHO superior to what's out there right now, and for the price of $59.99, cant beat it. My DECtalk DC01 cost $2800!

The Parallax page (#30016) has some audio samples and the documentation. My site has a few more details, including links to videos and pictures (http://www.grandideastudio.com/portf...speech-module/)

    Enjoy :)

Dude, it sounds great and is up there with what you will typically get on a desktop computer, maybe better than a lot of the default PC voices. Not as good as the best, though. You'll like it - Joe demoed it this summer at the propeller expo and it was most impressive, especially the singing and the spanish.
