So, In this thread http://forums.parallax.com/showthread.php?140973-Simple-Push-Button-Issue Mike Green solved my first problem. The next thing I would like to do is add a second Push Button in order to spin the motor in reverse. I figured I better ask for advice on doing this before I burn anything up!!!

If your 2nd pushbutton is a DPDT switch, you can use that to reverse the direction of the current to the motor. If, for some reason, you can't use a DPDT switch, you will need an H-Bridge to act as a DPDT switch, but activated by whatever pushbutton you have. See the schematic at Step #5 here. You could also use a DPDT relay for reversing power activated by an ordinary (SPST) pushbutton.

A double pole, double throw relay is yet another mechanical solution. It could be activated by one pin on a Basic Stamp via a transistor.

The H-bridge is inherent in the DPDT configuration.

If you want a low-power solidstate solution, the BEAM H-Bridges are great for the DIYer.
