Wire and Spice

Wire and Spice

Some say design circuits with wire,
Some say with Spice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor wire.
But if I had to solder twice,
I know enough of saving time
To say that for redoing it Spice
Is very prime
And will suffice.

Apologies to Robert Frost. :)

Inspired by my frustrations designing a JFET RF amplifier to feed a Prop input. LTSpice made things much easier!

Of JFET RF amps & such:

    PhiPi does it
    He's our man
    If he can't do it
    No one can!

Apologies to high school cheerleaders everywhere...

'Twas brillig and the JFET amps
All mimsy were the LED lamps!

    I got more...

Don't make me bust out my Haiku skillz...

    Internet of things
    Connected to the ether
    Refrigerator

Edit: prior to fixing, the first line started with "The" making it the 6 erco is referring to.

    That's 6-7-5
    Gotta be 5-7-5
    Oops, that's more Haiku!

My favorite haiku (not electronics themed) is the last one on this page: http://www.hippos.com/haiku.htm

It's sad to see what happens when people have too much time on their hands instead of concentrating on a propeller project ; - )

There once was a language called Spin
It could toggle the state of a pin
    The stack would grow
    And it did overflow
    Much to the programmer's chagrin

    Then Propeller GCC came in
Linux and OS X no longer a sin
The benefits of Open Source it will show
But the language of C you must know
    Much to the programmer's chagrin

Two pins diverged from a tiny jfet and I,
shakey as I was, could solder neither.
And that has made all of the difference.

Spinning and spinning in the widening gyre
The propeller cannot hear the PropTool
Things fall apart, Vcc cannot hold
Thermal noise is loosed upon the circuit
The AC ripple is loosed, and everywhere
The orderly spinning of cogs is disrupted
The best lack all synchronization, while the worst
Are in full bore thermal runaway.

    At Parallax Chip Gracey ran
    A fabless IC factory
For circuits not yet known to Man
Where Cogs and Hubs and PASM can
    use any pin generically

(Sorry, this is too much fun not to kick :-)
