MSRDS and Basic Stamp assistance needed

I am looking for anyone that is fairly fluant with MSRDS and has used the programming outlined here: http://forums.parallax.com/showthread.php?96973-VB-Express-to-Stamp-Template
to communicate with a Basic Stamp. What I would like to know is if it is possible to use the same code that connects the Stamp in VB with MSRDS instead of having to use the EBT module. Although I have been able to do this with the EBT attached, I want to use a different approach as bluetooth does not cover the distance that I would like to cover and it is not the most secure. Thanks for any help you can provide.
