easy bluetooth with the propboe

Hi Everyone 
I am playing around with my new propboe and trying to get the hang of using spin (im new to using propeller).
I've connected my easybt module from my old boebot to the propboe and I am trying to use it for serial communication with the serial terminal, the problem I am running into is that when I use the bluetooth for serial communications it doesnt wait for input and instead just keeps printing out stuff in the terminal, however when I use the usb for serial comms it waits for input.
I'm testing this using the 'Make Decisions' tutorial.
