Hi all,

Is there any interest in a bi-annual or quarterly Bay Area Propeller Special Interest Group meeting ?

Thanks,
--Steve

Where? The Bay Area is a big place.

Indeed. Guess it depends on the "centroid" of people interested.

Any more bay area propeller enthusiasts out there?

I'd be interested, although given my continuously variable work schedule, depending on where it would take place, aren't sure I could make it reliably.

About a year ago I spent the day on a job in Sacramento, and just by luck, that evening, there was a propeller group meeting in Rocklin, just a few miles up the road. So I went, and it was great to see the presentations and have a chance to ask questions. I thought I was pretty knowledgeable on the propeller, but I learned a lot that night.

I'm in Walnut Creek, just a bit east of Berkeley. I work in Pleasanton most weekdays, so I could probably make it down to the San Jose area some evening.

Steve, where specifically are you located? I live in Boulder Creek and work in Santa Cruz.

I'm interested. But fighting bay area traffic is a drag and makes points in space-time further apart than they are on the map. It's 70 some miles from Boulder Creek to Walnut Creek.

I could possibly host something here in Berkeley. EME Systems facility does not have a big meeting room, and the space is cluttered, but there is a big parking lot that is usually empty on weekends.

I live in San Jose near Milpitas.

As Tracy mentioned traffic is a big factor in the Bay Area. Of course facility is another ....

I'm open to a weekend jaunt in Berkeley if Tracy's facility is available and reasonable. Got chairs?

    Thanks,

Berkeley is a ~75mi trip for me. Milpitas is about the center point of the east bay, ~43mi for me.

I'd be very interested in a group. I go to school in Monterey but during the summer and weekends I spend time at home in south San Jose.

I would be interested and I also am in south San Jose. (Is the "centroid " shifting southward?)

If anyone is interested in visiting Santa Cruz, I have a conference/media room available. It's ~1000sf and has a big table and projector.

Hi all. Good to see more interest.

The Santa Cruz idea sounds great! Facility space, projector, and a cool ocean breeze ? :)

    Santa Cruz, Berkeley, or Milpitas?

Best I can do in the Milpitas "centroid" is dutch lunch at a Thai restaurant.

    Thanks,

I know Santa Cruz isn't ideal for access, but it can be a nice distraction and it's a spacious facility.

I'd come; I'm in Palo Alto.

Note that the local HomeBrewRoboticsClub has a pretty solid core of Propeller folks.
Hanno Sander speaks pretty regularly, and his dad is usually at the meetings. They
meet twice a month---once a SIG and once a general meeting.

If you do prop stuff and you are local, you should definitely checkout the HBRC.

    I couldn't be a twice a month regular. Propably worth a visit.

I see that HBRC regularly meets on the Google campus in Mountain View, not too shabby!
