Guys

I have just purchased a Parallax standard servo (180 Degree rotation) however when I connect it to my Rx it only turns about 90 degrees even with all of my travel adjust set to max.

What am I missing?

I'm not sure if pulses from normal R/C equipment have enough range to ratate the servo a full 180 degrees.

I just found my Parallax standard servo and I'll test it out and let your now what I find in a bit.

Using normal pulse ranges of 1000us to 2000us, the servo only moves about 90 degrees.

When I used very extreme ranges of 300us to 2492us the servo's rotation was much greater. I think it reached 180 degrees of rotation. I didn't think it rotated a full 180 degrees as I was making the video but when I played the video back, it looked like it was rotating a full 180 degrees.

YouTube says the upload will take another 14 minutes so check back in a bit to see the rotation for yourself.

Here's the link to the servo tesing software I was using.

So basically, these servos can rotate 180 degrees but you'll likely need a microcontroller to get them to do it.
