Stopping unwanted phone calls

Many unscrupulous businesses have found ways to circumvent the Do-not-call rules. One way is to pose as a "survey" organization and, of course, political calls appear to be exempt.

Years ago I bought a phone gadget called Person-to-Person which lets you store up to 176 names/numbers in a database and routes calls thru to your phones or to an answering machine (optional). If you don't connect an answering machine, those calls are basically just blocked.
See the DEMO

You can set up wildcard entries also. For example if you wanted to block all calls from area code 606 and extension 366 (e.g. 606-366-nnnn), you can do so.

It is pretty flexible and lets you screen out bothersome callers.

I just pulled this thing out of the closet and hooked it up again. Ahhh - peace and quiet!

Sounds good, but I looked at your link under "Places to Buy" and every one lists discontinued or sold out.

How much for yours Ron? Let the bidding begin. :)

Opps! I bought mine in 2007. Maybe the Do Not Call registry killed their business...

Too bad - it can be handy!

MINE IS NOT FOR SALE

Could be an opportunity for someone to develop a Propeller based alternative...

Caller: Hello, is this Mr. ElectricAye?
Me: May I ask who's calling?
Caller: This is a courtesy call from (those annoying people who keep calling me even though I've told them time and time again to stop calling me). Is Mr. ElectricAye available?
Me: Yes, just a moment while I fetch him. Hold on, please..................................................................

    Hi:

They don't have to circumvent the Do-not-call rules. Years ago I called the number given to report a business for calling you. This is what I was told. "We don't do anything unless a lot of people report the business." When I asked what is a lot of people; they couldn't give me a number. So the whole thing is just a lot of B.S.
