14years ago, a 8Gb harddrive was the size of a 5.25" CDRom drive and cost 100 times more than this card that is the size of a finger nail.

Anyone have a guess if these are good cards?

The price seems too good to be true.

    @tonyp14,

14 years ago, I weighed less, had more stamina, more hair and no gray hair.......times change, people adapt, things move on

This sounds like a good deal - all those poor little propeller boards with gaping, empty, neglected SD slots! Do it for the wee ones!!

Edit: Yes, I pulled the trigger! Despite the name of the seller - DailySteals!! Erco, there are some days you cost me more than my wife does!!

Rick: Then don't even THINK of buying this Amazon 16GB SDHC card class 10 for $12 (or 32 GB for $25...) :)

For what it's worth Microcenter has class 4 8gig micro-sd cards for $4.99 and class 10 8gig micro-sd cards for $7.99. Those are everyday prices and not sale prices and the they come with micro-sd to sd adaptors and a lifetime guarantee!

I always need these, thank you! They have a website that kind of reminds me of a woot.com.

    Thank you,

Today, the same seller has a standard SD (non micro) HC 8GB class 4 for $6. Sandisk (good!) Refurb (?)...

You have to be very careful buying SD's and USB thumb drives. There is a flourishing gray market for the testing rejects which are packaged up, sometimes by the manufacturer's own day employees on their own assembly line after hours. Awhile back Bunnie (of Chumby fame) decapped some suspect uSD's and established that an entire lot the Chumby manufacturer had bought from Kingston was like this.

@Jim et al: I need a penny apiece from every purchase. Someone figure out how I can financially wedge in between Ebay and Paypal to divert small kickbacks (taxfree) into my twins' college fund account...

Might be a job for a Propeller!

True that. Of course that's only 1% of their business in that month. 18467 positive feedbacks. I buy from them regularly. Never had a problem and I don't think they're going anywhere.

Did anyone get a tracking number from USPS that show that the SD cards have been delivered at "12:48 pm on February 17, 2012 in EL DORADO, AR 71730"? I contacted the seller, but I was wondering if anyone else has this problem? I am guessing this is an error.

    Sounds like quite an error!

They're still for sale, banner says "Ending Soon". :)

Also, the description reads, "Limited quantity available / 16,849 sold" :):):)

Received all 3 of mine yesterday. No case, just a micro card in a tiny ziplock inside a lightly padded DVD-sized mailing envelope. They all tested fine.

    erco,
Which adapters are you using? I tried both my new uSD cards in a PNY and Kodak adapter, and neither one are recognized on two different computers.

I guess you got the three good ones, and I got the two bad ones? :)

    Jim

PS I don't owe you a penney yet 'til they work. :)

Can't say which brands until I get home, but I used 2 different ones left over from previous purchases. Both worked fine, no issues. I'm surpised you have 2 adapters not working. Something's fishy. You sure your computers can use these adapters with other uSDHC cards? Some older computers have trouble with the SDHC format. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MicroSD#microSD

Worst case, you got 2 bad cards. Improbable, but it's a decent US seller with a 14-day money back guarantee.

Both of my micro SD adapters which worked are generics, no name brand listed. They look like the ones in the listing below.

FYI, I "won" two more on Ebay this morning for 6 cents FREE SHIP from China. Someone please explain those economics to me...

I used Kodak and PNY adapters. Both no joy. The uSD feels a little sloppy in both adapters. Going to order Samsung Adapter to see if that does anything. Still haven't tried the uSD in my GPS logger yet. I wanted to have a fresh format before I did.

Jim: I never heard, but I hope you got your SD adapters working. My 6-cent Ebay China adapters arrived today and they work fine.

There was a time when American Express operated its whole world empire on one 64K computer with punch cards. I simply can't seem to fill an 8GB SDcard with anything but movies or music.

Those tiny uSD cards are scary! James Bond might like them, but I have to keep a very careful eye on where they are. I am a bit frustrated that ergonomics is being ignored and we just are shrinking everything until it is too tiny for pygmy digits.

Easy! Just crank up Microsoft Word, type "Hello World," and Save As HTML.

Received my two uSD adapters today. Still no joy on a Windows 7 and XP machine. Both machines are from 2006-2007. Don't know if old hardware is involved.

My GPS Data Logger would not recognize the uSD card. Other cards in the new Samsung Adapter read fine.

I'm afraid I am out of my 14 day return window, but I might try. (They have no more available in that auction)

Hope you guys had better luck than I did.

May go to Staples and stick it in a camera to see if it is recognized.

I bet they're good, not sure why your hardware "doesn't like them". I'll buy 'em from you if can't get a refund. Of course, if they check out at Staples, you can give them to friends/kids, keep 'em for stocking stuffers. And eventually you'll get a phone or other hardware that can use 'em.
