ONE snagged! Dangit they only let you buy one at a time. Not sure how hard I want to press on multiple orders. They're charging 97 cents for shipping (!) but also charging sales tax. If they're still in stock when this one arrives I'll buy another, but having a second will be a big improvement because I can have one at work and one at home and not have to ferry one back and forth. I expect the one at work to get much usage reading PDF's, and the one at home is already getting use reading the included novels and checking out how MOBI conversions look.
They predict it will arrive mid next week at which point I will be about 250 miles from here on a week-long field job. Office is pretty good about putting things that arrive with my name on them in my absence on my chair for me to discover when I return though.
I don't know how you keep track of all these offers, but thanks! I'm inordinately pleased that the iTomic e-reader is available once again, and at the original price. It is odd to recognize that if the flood waters were coming, a $29 e-reader from Walmart.com is one of the first possessions I would grab to take with me.
Dunno how anybody else's unit is holding up, but mine is going strong after getting dropped numerous times by the twins. I bought several, expecting them to get broken within a few weeks/months, but I'm very pleasantly surprised by their durability. So I still have a few mint units waiting for their day. Our primary unit is used primarily for the twins to watch videos on (lots of use, will be taking on vacation) but dad also uses it for PDF viewing, etc. One my more useful finds IMO.
Mine is still going strong...as solid as the day I got it. There are hundreds of books on it, primarily epub, but dozens of pdf and txt files, too. The ease of adding books and the fact that it is entirely open are endearing attributes. It also has a nice range of font sizes and styles. Battery life is excellent for a backlit display. Pretty crazy what $29 bought.
Still, my favorite erco find was the LPC1114FN28. But I probably ought to keep that on the QT.
I use the work one to scan documentation PDF's although it chokes on some of the larger ones. On the home one I've mostly just read a few of the included books. Good value for $29 but, like my WikiReader, I really expected to use them a lot more than I have. Were there a root exploit... *sigh*

Clearly I have more work to do!
