I had to nab this one. I don't plan to use this every day, but If it lasts for 2 long car trips, it will be worth it to keep the wear & tear off my laptop. Already I can recite all the Disney DVDs (Cinderella, Beauty/Beast, Nemo, Sleeping Beauty, etc) and most of the Elmo's World collection by heart, and my little twins clamor for more.

And besides, it can play videos off USB stick or SD card. 5-hour internal battery. Who knows, I might find another use for this in my electronics pursuits, even though I'm doing it all for my girls... :)

I bought one of those from Costco awhile back when they were selling for $89 or so. The slave unit is an adequate NTSC monitor that can be used with the Prop.

Heck, if I'd have know that, I could have just borrowed yours and put the $60 in their college fund! What else do you have for me? :)

Perfect, I'll borrow that too! Looks comfy cozy. One or both of the twins could fit in that carrier wearing a dog suit on the airlines. Gotta be cheaper than paying full price for a passenger seat...

Maybe I'll wait until July to try this particular money saving tactic. Don't want to jeopardize any Father's Day awards in the offing.

...and you'll never forget them.. I can still recite most of the Barney songs, and that was 16+ years ago. :):)

This is a very tempting deal. If the remote unit is NTSC it's not a bad deal for that alone. And being 7 inch it's very likely that if the main unit isn't NTSC to the LCD, it's the "easy" RGB like the Philips PET 702 DVD I hacked, as opposed to the somewhat harder Ativa photo frame that didn't have to hew to NTSC timing. If I had any time at all for hacking new stuff I would totally be buying one of these but I'm just swamped. I have too much other unfinished stuff that will probably never get finished.

Anyone want a half-modded Philips PET 702? I don't think I will ever get around to finishing it.
