Life must suck for that poor slinky! Just when you think he has a chance to escape, he gets pulled right back onto the treadmill.
I noticed that too and I wonder if they had an usually good run, they tweaked the treadmill in some way, or are slinkys self-centering?
In the 80's I had a Summer job at K-mart and there was a conveyor belt for moving merchandise up to the loft for storage. We would also use it for off label uses. One of which included putting a slinky on it and I seem to recall it didn't work nearly as well. But the belt had a much steeper pitch than this video.
Assuming that Slinkys work on escalators, it would be an interesting social experiment to video a few on busy escalators at an airport or mall to see if people help them along or steal them... Human nature is something else!
Add solar power to that treadmill and 1000 years from now that slinky will still be going after we are all gone. There is something sinister here. Yet another great iconic toy gets put on a treadmill and neglected. I feel angst or zeitgeist or something.

Best use I've seen for a treadmill in a while.
Best since OK Go!
As someone who was raised on the "Monkees" there is some very familiar to their style to me.
