That's not a real sexy sounding app for a several thousand dollar robot, but I'll have to watch the videos to formulate an informed opinion.

I just went with gut feel and an uninformed opinion....but didn't comment out loud because I remember what mama used to tell me.

Must have been something like "don't bite the hand that feeds you!".

    I've never met a customer I didn't like, well except for. . .

OK, I like it. After watching the videos, Art makes an excellent case for his robot tripod. He's a capable robot geek (mean that in a good way) and a cook/foodie, a rare combination. His second video making rigatoni is wonderfully self-serving in a few ways, and provides a relevant venue for promoting his product.

I had expected the winner to have robot arms and be more of a butler bot, but I guess the world and Microsoft aren't quite ready for that yet.

That's a very neat project! I can see why the judges selected it. I'm a bit perplexed by the cooking video, however. He must've had two Eddie platforms with cameras. Otherwise, he could not have performed the cuts that he did between views, and both seem to have pan/tilt capability.

The only difference I can see between his system and a human camera operator is that a human is able to anticipate movement to keep the subject centered, whereas his seems to trail the action a bit in reaction to the movement. But those are pretty minor niggles for an otherwise outstanding effort.

That is a very nicely done project. Now I want to build one. Are the code and schematics available? I am having trouble locating any documentation.
