Let me add the this is open to anybody that wishes to participate, and is not limited to propeller based solutions.

Some of these guys use a full PC as brains, and only get so far, and some guys use only a micro controller, and win.

Anybody think their prop + GPS solution can navigate to a bunch of traffic cones spread across a park?

Nifty. What's the smallest/cheapest GPS sensor that interfaces easily to a uC?

Erco, Parallax sells a GPS sensor for $35, it is quite small and it only needs two pins. I just bought it and plan to add it to my wooden 4x4. There are a number of open source solutions for parsing the data and computing routes with one.
